“I would say that’s when it kind of came on our radar, mid- to late January,” Brown says. “As we got closer to that conference, the news started to become more and more top of mind that this was going to be in the United States. But it wasn’t top of mind for us to start making contingency plans.”

ShorePoint, Inc. Acquires Cyberyllium, Leading Provider of Elasticsearch and Data Analytics for Government Customers

Well-positioned for continued growth supporting current and future DHS Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) program opportunities

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 24, 2020 – ShorePoint Inc., a cybersecurity services company that protects customers’ critical assets from cyber threats, today announced it has acquired Cyberyllium, a provider of data transformation services and a leader in designing, deploying and operating Elasticsearch capabilities across government and corporate enterprises.

The acquisition strongly positions ShorePoint to capitalize on transformational architecture changes underway within the public sector. This includes enterprise cybersecurity initiatives like the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program, as well as broader cyber modernization efforts across the Federal Civilian market.

“Cyberyllium represents a perfect fit to ShorePoint’s strategic growth plan by further strengthening our current cybersecurity offerings which help federal and civilian agencies implement and maintain the technologies, methodologies and processes for managing threats,” said Matt Brown, co-founder and chief executive officer of ShorePoint. “As CDM transitions to a dashboard ecosystem solution based on the ‘ELK stack’ of Elastic, Logstash and Kibana, ShorePoint is now firmly positioned to fill a huge gap in Elasticsearch capabilities.”

In addition to expanding the combined company’s capabilities into high-demand growth areas, ShorePoint’s acquisition of Chantilly, Virginia-based Cyberyllium broadens the company’s customer footprint through the addition of ongoing cybersecurity support engagements in the government market.

“The combination of Cyberyllium and ShorePoint made sound business sense, as it brought together two strong teams with excellent reputations for performance,” said Robert Mastrovito, co-founder and chief executive officer of Cyberyllium. “With companies sharing a strong work culture and an established track record in the federal market, joining ShorePoint was a compelling proposition to our team that brings added benefit to customers and employees alike.”

The integration and go-to-market strategy will be led by Ryan McCullough, ShorePoint’s chief strategy officer and a driving force behind the move to position the company for the Elasticsearch opportunity.

“This acquisition gives us the capabilities and added technical depth to deliver now on where both CDM and broader agency cyber modernization initiatives are going in the near future,” said McCullough.

Launched in 2017, ShorePoint is committed to driving positive change in the community and for its clients. The company continuously invests and promotes professional and technical growth for each employee to remain on the forefront of cybersecurity best practices.
