Data and cybersecurity luminary to stand up new HPC security practice
HERNDON, Va., April 15, 2025 – ShorePoint Inc., an industry-leading cybersecurity services company protecting federal customers’ critical assets, today announced the addition of cybersecurity and data expert Ian Lee as Director of Advanced Computing Solutions. In this newly created role, Lee will support innovative cyber programs, lead a new line of business in High Performance Computing security, and support innovative development across ShorePoint’s growing portfolio of offerings.
Lee brings over 15 years of experience securing some of the nation’s most advanced computing environments. Most recently, as HPC Security Architect at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, he led initiatives to safeguard HPC systems and protect critical national assets. In this newly created role, Lee will provide technical and operational support across several strategic initiatives, including the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program and the launch of a new line of business focused on HPC security.

Lee will continue to lead the HPC Security Technical Exchange, or STX — a consortium he founded in 2023 that brings together nearly 100 thought leaders and practitioners from more than 15 government organizations. The group fosters awareness, collaboration and practical solutions for protecting the computing infrastructure that powers AI, scientific discovery and national security missions.
