We are seeking a Systems Security Analyst/Engineer who has experience in acquisition, systems engineering and analysis in IT functional areas to support the total lifecycle of government acquisition programs. Roles and Responsibilities

Supports the PM, other team members and government leaders with the review of IT programs and their Solution Architecture, particularly for cloud-based applications. Supports the review and may support the conduct of Cybersecurity threat and vulnerability assessment and application and design of controls. Review and adjudicate acquisition policies, processes, artifacts, strategies, decisions, as well as supporting development and deployment activities of programs. Conceives solutions to complex analytical, design, and test problems that programs experience. Contributes to systems philosophy and design objectives.

  • Participate in collaborative discussions to solve complex acquisition, systems engineering, policy and workforce gaps and issues
  • Individually contribute and assist a federal office to fulfill its mission, goals and objectives
  • Draft, review, recommend, edit and adjudicate acquisition policies, processes, procedures, artifacts and guidance
  • Contribute specific expertise in the areas of Major Acquisition Reviews & Assessments, Cybersecurity Threat and Vulnerability Assessment, Application of Cybersecurity Controls, Enterprise Architecture Engineering, and Policy and Workforce Development
  • Familiar with the DHS Cybersecurity Policy, and DHS Threat Assessment Guidance
  • Familiar with cloud application and deployment 

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of the FAR and DHS acquisition processes and policy, specifically; DHS Acquisition Directive and Instructions (MD 102-01 series) and DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle Instruction and Guidebooks (MD 102-01-003 series) and supplemental guidance
  • Knowledge of the S&T Technical Assessment Process for DHS Acquisition Programs
  • Experience developing and presenting training materials related to Systems Engineering
  • Technical Systems Engineering and Analysis skills, tools and methods
  • Technical evaluation, project analysis, risk mitigation, technical writing, preparation of briefings, process tailoring, and data management
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-direct and work with a team of engineers and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment and effective decision making

Desired Skills

  • General knowledge in Homeland Security Mission, Operations, Programs, and Policies

Education Requirement

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other Engineering or Technical Discipline

Years of Experience Requirement

  • 3-5 years applicable professional experience

Certification Requirement

  • CISSP, CISA or equivalent certifications (DoD 8570 IAM 2 equivalent)

Security Clearance

  • Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain DHS suitability
