We are seeking a Cyber Security Agency Advocate (CSAA) who has experience providing strategic cyber security consulting support to Government Agencies in a trusted advisor role. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth, development and culture of an exciting and emerging company in the cybersecurity market.

The CSAA will partner with key agency stakeholders to support the agency mission and cyber objectives by leveraging the DHS CDM Program to implement solutions built upon cyber security capabilities available under the CDM Program. The CSAA will work to understand Agency cyber priorities and develop a plan for coordinating these priorities with CDM capability areas and program goals. While advancing the agency’s objectives, the CSAA will evangelize emerging CDM capabilities and work with the Agency to integrate these technologies with existing processes to solve the agency’s cyber security challenges. The CSAA will work with stakeholders to develop the agency’s multi-year cyber roadmap, and simultaneously collaborates with Agency and project teams to ensure solutions deliver the intended benefits to the agency.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establishing trusted advisor relationships with CISO, CIO and similar key decision makers
  • Developing and managing a pipeline of business opportunities
  • Providing enterprise-level architectural design and support to agency CIO/CISO/ISSO while providing internal direction around cyber security requirements
  • Providing subject matter expertise across a broad range of cyber security technologies
  • Listen to and translate Agency cyber priorities within CDM capability roadmap and requirements
  • Directing thought process around governance, security requirements, methodologies, techniques and tools used to reduce the agency’s cyber security risk posture
  • Capable of providing both high level guidance and in-depth technical discussions around existing CDM toolsets and future capabilities of the CDM Dashboard
  • Providing direction and subject matter expertise to internal teams to implement CDM capabilities

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of industry best practices related to the implementation of cybersecurity tools, information security policy, NIST, and FISMA controls
  • Proven ability to translate system design concepts into implementation plans
  • Experience managing the deployment of enterprise-wide, COTS-based cyber security tools
  • Proven ability to work across internal service organizations to deliver enterprise cyber solutions
  • Strategic thinking, ability to plan and achieve long-term objectives
  • Business development: solid negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage opportunities and customer communications
  • Experience balancing the demands of multiple clients simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, communications and collaboration skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills

  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years delivering consulting services to federal government clients in cyber security advisory, implementation or operations roles

Education Requirement 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

 Years of Experience Requirement

  • Minimum 7 years of experience leading design and engineering efforts for large IT implementations, especially related to multi-faceted cybersecurity projects

 Certification Requirement

  • PMP or similar preferred
  • ITIL v3 or similar preferred
